How do you groom a JRT?

Grooming a Jack Russell Terrier isn’t overly complicated, thanks to their low-maintenance coats.

Those with a smooth coat need brushing weekly with a hound glove or soft-bristle brush, whilst those with rough or broken coats require hand-stripping twice a year.

Regular check-ups for ears and teeth are essential, and frequent nail clipping ensures their paws stay healthy.

How do you train a Jack Russell Terrier?

Training a Jack Russell Terrier requires patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. These clever canines learn new commands quickly but are known for their independent streak.

Training should commence at an early age and must be engaging to keep their interest. Socialization with other dogs and people is essential and basic obedience training should be a must. Using rewards, such as treats or favorite toys can make training sessions more productive.
